Red Barn
The red barn is a classic piece of American vernacular architecture. Although it looks beautiful in the green countryside, the choice of red for barns was not originally driven by esthetics: home-made red paint was cheaper!
This red barn is set on a green 5 by 7″ card. It also comes with an optional awning. Print, cut, fold and assemble your barn by following the alphabet and gluing each letter to its twin. It is much easier to make than you would imagine!
The “hand-cut” barn option is a PDF file with the image and the cut and fold lines discreetly marked. However, if you own a KNK Force cutter, you have the option to download an unmarked print file with bleeds and registration marks. This download also includes an SVG file for cutting and scoring, calibrated for Neenah 65lb white card stock.

The barn in this video was made for Greene Acres, a beautiful event venue in South Carolina. They commissioned this piece so they could offer it as a memorable thank you keepsake for the lucky couples who wed in their barn. This example shows another way you can customize your barn: open the barn doors by cutting them out and gluing them to the side!
